On Tuesday 24th November, Diabetes Ireland hosted its first webinar for School Principals, Teachers and Special Needs Assistants on “Understanding Paediatric Type 1 Diabetes’ to support the child living with Type 1 Diabetes in the classroom”. Over 200 delegates registered for the webinar which was a fantastic attendance.
The webinar provided a great opportunity for principals, teachers and SNAs to hear directly from the experts in the paediatric care of type 1 diabetes on how to effectively continue to support children with Type 1 diabetes in their schools.
Diabetes Ireland would like to thank the Cork University Team of Dr Colin Hawkes, Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist, Mr Conor Cronin, Paediatric Diabetes Nurse Specialist Ms Shirley Beattie, Diabetes Paediatric Dietitian for providing a very informative and engaging presentation and Novo Nordisk for supporting the hosting of the webinar.
