Diabetes Ireland National Teen Activity Day was held across four centres in Waterford, Westmeath, Limerick and Donegal on Friday 14th July ’17.
The aim of the Teen Activity day is to encourage teens to engage in adventure activities and learn to maintain good management of their diabetes and most importantly to have fun.
91 teens attended the day across the four centres and engaged in activities such as abseiling, canoeing, paintballing, surfing and many more!
All the teens were full of chat throughout the day about their diabetes, hobbies and interests. The leaders could not hear themselves think with all the chatter from the buses on the way home.
Many teens are already looking forward to next year and Vicky Doyle, Health Promotion Advocacy Executive commented “It is fulfilling and so worthwhile organising these kind of events to give teenagers the opportunity to meet each other and enjoy themselves in the process”
