Our next group get-together will be a Walk on Sunday September 17th @ 11am (weather permitting). We are going to walk The 12 O’Clock Hills in East Clare.

The 12 O’Clock Hills lie approximately 5km southeast of Kilkishen village in East Clare and we will walk the 8.5km looped walk where the summit is marked by a triangulation concrete pillar marking a height of 309 metres.

The route is mixed terrain of minor roads, forest track, river bank and bogland on the upper hills.  Along the walk are a number of heritage sites which are marked by information boards telling the story of the particular site.

Access is via the trailhead in Belvoir on the L3016 road linking the villages of Sixmilebridge and Broadford and the carpark there can accommodate 32 cars.  This road is identifiable as it leads to the Sunyata Buddist Centre.  We will gather here on the day at approx.10.50am.
