The next meet up of the Clare Type 2 Diabetes Group will take place on Tuesday 24th March at 8pm in The Temple Gate Hotel, Ennis.  Guest speakers are: Clare DESMOND co-ordinator, Yvonne Kozarov and Mary Feeley, Clinical Nurse Specialist Diabetes who will provide a general type 2 diabetes care and nutrition talk.

The DESMOND course is a HSE dietitian-led course to support people living with type 2 diabetes, which covers:

The course runs over four sessions each lasting two and a half hours
– Session 1: Learn about what diabetes is and how you can manage it
– Session 2: How to eat healthily and manage your weight
– Session 3: Learn more about carbohydrates and how to read food labels
– Session 4: Planning for the future and living well with diabetes

The Clare Type 2 Diabetes meetings are free to attend, open to anyone who wants to learn more about Type 2 Diabetes and an excellent opportunity to meet others. Newcomers always welcome!
