Kill: School Diabetes Awareness Day
April 27, 2016
A Diabetes Ireland School Awareness Day will take place in Scoil Bhride Kill National School on the 27th of April.
Vicky Doyle, Health Promotion Officer with Diabetes Ireland, will be completing a series of school visits in the Leinster area in 2016 as part of our new Schools Diabetes Awareness Programme. Vicky, who herself was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at 11 years old, will talk to students and create awareness around type 1 and type 2 diabetes across the Leinster region. Students and teachers will also learn the differences between type 1 and type 2 diabetes, how to handle emergency situations for students with type 1 and receive advice on healthy diet and exercise to help prevent Type 2 diabetes.
If your school would like to take part in the Schools Diabetes Awareness Programme, please call Vicky on 01 842 8118 or email [email protected]
*Please note these events are not open to the general public.
