Managing my Type 2 effectively
November 30, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
10€Have you ever wanted to sit face to face with diabetes health care professionals outside of a hospital setting to learn more about your diabetes? Diabetes Ireland is delighted to offer you this opportunity. We have gathered professionals from a variety of fields in the area of Type 2 diabetes to answer YOUR questions. To do this, join us in the Crowne Plaza Blanchardstown on November 30th from 7pm-9pm
The topics for discussion are:
- “The Type 2 Medications Basket; Understanding the role of the medications I take”
Prof Seamus Sreenan (Blanchardstown) Consultant Endocrinologists, Connolly Memorial Hospital
- “New Food Pyramid, The role of Healthy Eating in Diabetes self-management”
Orlaith Burkett (Blanchardstown) Senior Dietitians, HSE North East
- “Understanding my numbers; why blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose levels are so important”
Bernie Goodwin (Santry) Diabetes Nurses, Connolly Memorial Hospital
- “Tips for self-management of your feet”
Kellie Fortune (both meetings) Senior Podiatrist, Connolly Memorial Hospital
You and fellow attendees will be divided into small groups (no more than 12) in a round table setting. Our experts will move from table to table in rotation for 20 minute Q&A sessions. This should allow for easy conversation and give you the opportunity to ask them anything you like about your diabetes, or just listen and learn from other questions. There will be light refreshments available at 8pm.
To avail of this invaluable opportunity, register today for either meeting by completing the form below or book with Sheila on 01-842 8118. It is €5 for members and €10 for non-members to register. Please note that we have a maximum of 48 places for each meeting so register today and do not miss out.
Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you once again for your continuing support of Diabetes Ireland. We look forward to seeing you on the night.
Kind Regards,
Sinead Powell
Regional Development Officer and Dietitian
