More than 200 people viewed Diabetes Ireland’s second education webinar of 2021 to hear Dr Maeve Durkan, Bon Secours Hospital, Cork speaking on: Preventing Cardiovascular Disease, what steps can I take?” on Wednesday March 31st.
Dr Durkan gave a very practical insight into understanding and managing the essentials of Type 2 diabetes covering the importance of HbA1c, Cholesterol, and Blood pressure control when it comes to preventing cardiovascular disease.
Dr Durkan outlined the benefits of many new drug treatments now available to provide people with living with Type 2 ways to reduce glucose, blood pressure and cholesterol levels while also encouraging positive lifestyle behaviours to reduce the risk of preventable complications.
