More than 220 people attended Diabetes Ireland’s first education webinar of 2021 to hear Dr Emma Wilmot, Consultant Diabetologist at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust in the UK provide expert advice on how to maximise your remote consultation with your diabetes team.
Dr Wilmot outlined the benefits of the new technologies that are now available to provide people with living with Type 1 diabetes with more information to help them prepare effectively for their virtual consultation appointments with their diabetes team and also how it helps in the management of their Type 1 diabetes.
Mr Colm McNulty of Abbott Diabetes Care in Ireland, who supported the event, also provided an update on their latest product/research activities including access to the Freestyle Libre with both presenters answering many questions from attendees.
