Keeping up with Diabetes Technology Developments that are Transforming the lives of People living with Diabetes

Diabetes Technology Network Ireland (DTN IRL), in collaboration with Diabetes Ireland, is hosting a free technology information meeting in Croi House, Galway on Tuesday 25th February at 6.15pm.

The meeting is for people living with diabetes and their families to learn about the various technologies such as continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), insulin pumps and hybrid closed loop systems that are currently available in Ireland.

With the landscape of diabetes technology changing so quickly, it can be difficult to keep up to date on developments so this is a great opportunity for attendees to inform themselves about the technology and how it will enable them to manage their condition more effectively.

Dr Tomás Griffin, Consultant Physician, Galway University Hospital who will be presenting on this important topic on the night said “ our aim is to empower attendees to make informed decisions about diabetes technology in collaboration with their diabetes care team, choosing options that best meet clinical needs and lifestyle preferences”.

Attendees will also learn about the latest global Type 1 Diabetes research developments funded by Breakthrough T1D and hear from world renowned Professor Derek O’Keeffe, Professor of Medical Device Technology, Galway University Hospital, who will be sharing his insights into the future world of diabetes technology research.

This is the first of a series of similar meetings that will be held around the country this year and I would urge people with Type 1 diabetes to come along on the night. For further information, visit www.diabetes.ie added Dr Griffin.
