The latest in the series of Diabetes Ireland webinars was held on Wednesday 28th of April with 500 people registering and 270 viewers attending on the night. The webinar was for adults with Type 1 diabetes and parents of children with Type 1 diabetes.
The guest speaker was Dr Eirin Carolan Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist at Childrens Health Ireland, Temple Street Hospital, Dublin. Dr Carolans topic was “Optimising Diabetes Control: Reaching target time in range”. The webinar was supported by Medtronic Ireland and Catherine O Donovan a senior technical consultant from Medtronic Ireland also shared an update with viewers following Dr Carolan’s presentation.
Dr Carolan provided a very engaging talk on how far diabetes management technologies have progressed in the last number of years to reduce the burden of care of Type 1 diabetes. Dr Carolan provided an overview of the benefits of using the latest diabetes management technologies and discussed the information now available to assist those with Type 1 diabetes and their diabetes team to individualise and optimise daily management.
There were numerous comments and questions on the night and we very much appreciate the positive feedback. The webinar will be available to members in the coming days.
