New Medtronic Sensor launched in Ireland

The Simplera Sync™ sensor is now available in Ireland for use with the Medtronic MiniMed™ 780G system, making life a little easier for those living with type 1 diabetes.

For people living with type 1 diabetes, missed boluses or inaccuracies can significantly impact blood glucose levels. Navigating mealtimes with confidence can also be challenging, especially when carb counting isn’t always precise. The MiniMed™ 780G system addresses these challenges with its autocorrection and meal detection capabilities. Its SmartGuard™ Technology continuously anticipates and adjusts insulin, correcting glucose levels every five minutes. This helps ensure more consistent time in range, even when carb counting isn’t exact, providing a reassuring level of support and stability.

The MiniMed™ 780G system with the Simplera Sync™ sensor automatically adjusts insulin delivery based on glucose trends—administering more when levels are high and less when they are low. This helps maintain stable blood glucose levels without the need for constant manual adjustments, helping to achieve 80% Time in Range. The MiniMed 780G system with Simplera Sync™ has also been shown to provide 82% time in range during the night, helping people with type 1 diabetes achieve better sleep quality and, wake up more refreshed.
