Name of Study
Project MEDAL (Medical Devices A New Life)
Purpose of Study
The purpose of the study is to identify sustainable and convenient disposal solutions for continuous blood glucose monitors or insulin delivery devices. It is not a medical research study and does not involve clinical trial. This is a consumer research study, which focuses on attitudes towards the disposal of electronic medical devices in Ireland. The study is conducted by a team of experienced University of Limerick researchers from the Kemmy Business School and Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. We would like to talk to users of continuous blood glucose sensors and/or insulin delivery pumps to find out what they do with them after application/use. Participants will be asked to complete a brief online survey and/or indicate whether they would be interested in being contacted for a follow up interview to discuss these issues further.
