Friday July 5th 2024 saw another hugely successful Teen Activity Day held in Lough Key Forest & Adventure Park in Roscommon and Dunmore East Adventure Centre in Waterford.
With a fantastic turnout of 60 teens at both locations, it was truly heartwarming to see young individuals living with diabetes come together, have fun, and forge friendships that will last a lifetime. Supported by diabetes nurses, volunteers and Diabetes Ireland staff who ensured a fantastic day was had by all. With all the teens doing a series of land and water-based activities, Boda Borg, kayaking, caving, wall climbing, Wibit Aquapark, paddle boarding and good old pier jumping, everyone made lots of new friends making it a great day for all.
This event exemplified the power of community engagement in aligning with our core initiatives. Stay connected with Diabetes Ireland for future events and support as we continue to make a positive impact together.
Finally, a big thank you to our nurses,Avril, Christine, Rose Marie, & Emer in Lough Key and Niamh & Deirdre in Dunmore East. It goes without saying that without you, we could not have this event and the teenagers would miss out.
